In the early morning on a cold day, a man on a motorcycle drives into the parking lot. But this isn’t an ordinary man; not only a DJ, he’s also the two-year principal of Metz Middle School, and his name is Mr. Morris!

      Morris (or Gary Morris) has a total of 27 years in education with an M.A. degree in teaching technical information from Norfolk State University. Originally, he planned to be an engineer, which is what he studied in Virginia Tech, State University of Virginia. He also thought at one point to be a pilot and military officer. The reason why he did this is a great question. As he stated, “I was going to be a pilot until I got nervous and became like the rest of my family: a teacher.”

       Mr. Morris also knows how to play soccer since he played during high school. His wish is to make sure people will follow their dreams and know Metz Middle School as the best in the county. He knows how to be a DJ, as every time we have an event here at Metz, he volunteers. Finally, as Mr. Morris said,”Have an outstanding day!”
